    can the y8 be wired to run the p28 ecu? I'm asking b/c isn't a y8 gonna be OBDII and wouldn't that be a bitch to wire? any help youcan give me is greatly appreciated.

    Actually 96+ D16Y8 EX Civic owners buy the P28 ECU and the ECU adapter to run the engine better with a set of headers.

    This ECU runs the engine actually quite well. However, I think OBD II version II form the 99-00 Civics needs to be addressed. These distributors have a really high sensor resolution, so you need to use the 96-98 distributor. Now this is what I've heard, so I'd verify it before doing it. But it should work very well. Also the engine wiring for the D16Z6 is the same as the D16Y8, minus the Air Intake Temp sensor that moves to the intake pipe just before the throttle body.
